Early SG footage on "Sexcetera"

"Having arrived home from the pub slightly worse for wear last night, I started flicking through the TV channel's, and just happened across(honestly)a segment of Playboy's "Sexcetera" programme featuring some of the earliest Suicidegirls, and a very fresh faced Missy. Not that she isn't fresh faced now. She may be one of the operative heads of an Aum style cult, but I still think she's hot.
Anyway, I'm babbling - the footage all seemed to have been taken back when SG definitely was what it was first intended to be, and not the corporate behemoth that is has become. Some lovely shots in what seemed to be Missy's Portland apartment which she almost giggingly referred to as "SG-HQ". Those were the days, eh? I wonder if she and Sean at this time, actually had a coherent business plan all laid out before them, and knew which direction the company was heading in? I really don't know - but it was actually quite nice to see some of the earliest SGs having fun and cavorting around for the camera, with not a care in the world. As the programme is produced by the Playboy channel, there was a lot of rather twatty talk about "goth girls" and the like, but you came away with the impression(whether fuelled by a few pints of Guinness or not)that this version of SG was sooooooo much more fun than the heavy-handed lawsuit machine it is today.

You should have stayed like this, SG! Not moved to LA and bought into all the media and ego-driven crap that exists there. I've done business in LA. I know how it works and it ain't pretty. There really doesn't seem to be any real plan to Suicidegirls anymore. The owners are obviously keen to sell up as quickly as humanly possible and move onto different things. You can tell that even from peeking at the site occasionally and marvelling at the day to day chaos that seems to be it's stock-in-trade. It's like a longtime drunk, lurching uneasily from one bad decision to another. Whether it be(frankly appalling)new layouts every couple of days, or binning most of the writers that made it's boards so entertaining, in one fell swoop - the site smacks of the same kind of management philosophy as the Burmese Junta use to keep their people quaking with fear.

There is no doubt that a very small percentage of the girls have profited from their time with SG. TV, film, a small measure of fame and yes, money, have been the perks of getting their rather lovely bodies out on the internet. No doubt, it's been one hell of a ride. But these ladies are the lucky ones. The majority of SGs will be lucky to get a pat on the head, in terms of return on their investment. I haven't met Sean, but after everything I've read about him and everything that has come to light, I feel I know him. And he's actually nothing special in terms of his wingnuttery, believe it or not. I work in an industry where "Seans" are everywhere. I have to deal with the pricks on a daily basis, so I know that Sean's opinion of the SGs will be fairly dire, no matter what he might spurt out in any of the brief interviews he's given. If he has a low opinion of the SGs, heaven knows how he feels about the Hopefuls(a term that in itself is quite pitiful, when you think about what a Hopeful is aspiring to)who are currently the lowest form of life on the SG evolutionary food chain. These poor girls are the ones that will suffer the most.
So yes - a great shame that you deviated from your early beginnings, SG. You could have been so much more than you are today. You could have been remained most importantly, fun. The way you once were. But you chose to be pricks. In years to come, when you're sitting contemplating how it all went wrong(apart from your bank accounts)you may think back to that apartment in Portland, and smile as you remember the good times.

I'd like to say - it's still not too late for you, though. Scrooge changed overnight, Paul had his road to Damascus experience, and even Darth Vader got his shit together in the end.

If you can just prise yourselves away from the grip of your own egos and the lure of the Holy Dollar, you could accomplish great things.

And Missy - as I said before - you're still hot. So no hard feelings."
